Greetings! My name is Andrew Schiff, CPA. I'm delighted that you're interested in learning more about careers in accounting and bookkeeping.
As you probably already know, accounting and bookkeeping is a great field! According to the Department of Labor, there are over 2.2 million positions in accounting and bookkeeping in the United States, and hundreds of thousands of these positions become available each year. Best of all, the demand for accountants and bookkeepers is the strongest it has been in many years!
Opportunities exist in big companies, the government and small businesses. You can work full-time or part-time, and at times of the day that are best for you. You can even do accounting and bookkeeping from your own home!
You Can Have a Career
Full of Choices and Opportunities
Picture yourself working as part of the successful accounting team for a large corporation or government agency, or working with the books for a thriving local business. It's important, interesting work that commands respect, admiration and gratitude from employers and coworkers.
Accounting and bookkeeping positions pay competitive starting salaries, and can lead to high-paying, long-term careers. Too busy to go to college? That’s okay. You can earn up to $40,000 a year without college! And with additional education, you can earn even more. Very few careers offer so many ways to get started and to get ahead.
